$90-$200/hr strategy consulting work, on your schedule
Review a model's market analysis the way a partner reviews an associate's deck. Flag the sizing built on a bad assumption, the strategy with no path to execution, the gap a client would catch.
Trusted by top research companies

Hi, we're Zac and Jack, the founders of Terac. We want to talk to you directly, because you are the most important part of what we're building.
Terac is a community of experts. People who have spent years getting good at something specific and hard. The world is about to need more of you, not less. As AI takes on more of the world's work, the bottleneck shifts to the people who actually know what they're talking about.
Expert labor is the rarest resource in the world right now, and it is shockingly hard to find. The companies that need a strategy consultant's eye on a market sizing that doesn't hold up spend weeks chasing people, paying placement fees, and settling for whoever is available. Meanwhile thousands of qualified people are sitting with knowledge that no one ever asks for.
That gap is what we're here to close. Every project that lands on Terac is routed to the people who actually know the answer, on their schedule, paid fairly, and only when the work is verified. No middleman taking a cut of your time. No vague gigs. No chasing checks.
We care about every single person in this community. If you join Terac, you're not a row in a database to us. We read the feedback. We answer the emails. We will fight for you when a customer is being unreasonable, and we will be honest with you when something on our side is broken. The quality of this panel is our entire company, and we owe you a serious bar.
If you've made it this far, here is what we're asking: claim your profile. Put your expertise on the record. Let the world's most ambitious teams come find you for the work only you can do.
Strategy Consulting questions

Vertical specialists are among the most valuable contributors. Models consistently miss sector-specific reasoning, so a reviewer who knows a recommendation is viable in retail but impossible in a regulated payer environment catches errors broad reviewers miss. Your niche is the point, not a limitation.
Firm pedigree is not a qualifier. Command of strategy frameworks, analytical rigor, and deliverable quality is. An MBA plus years of independent or in-house strategy work qualifies you at the same level as a legacy-firm alum. What we evaluate is whether you can tell structurally sound analysis from plausible-sounding but hollow work.
Tasks reference publicly documented frameworks, not any firm's internal tools. You review model output for soundness and reasoning quality, not anything tied to a current employer's confidential IP. If a task ever crosses into territory you consider sensitive, you can decline it without penalty.
You evaluate model market sizings, competitive assessments, operating-model recommendations, and business cases against the bar a senior client would hold. You may also annotate worked examples showing how you build a hypothesis tree or structure a board-ready narrative. It is close to a QA pass on a junior's deck, applied to model output.
In-house leaders who came up through consulting are well-qualified and often bring a useful view, because they have seen recommendations land in the real operating environment. Your ability to judge whether output reflects how strategy gets implemented, not just pitched, applies directly. There is no requirement to be at a firm now.
Why your expertise matters
A model's growth-share matrix oversimplifies the real competitive picture, its DCF lets terminal value quietly drive the answer, and its sizing violates an industry's unit economics. Catching that takes a seasoned EM, not a casebook. Your corrections teach these tools to reason like a strategist, not recite one.
How pay works
The $200/hr ceiling goes to VP, principal, or partner-level engagement experience, or deep niche depth like PE diligence, defense strategy, or regulated industries where analytical error is costly. Fully remote, scheduled in blocks you control, paid after your evaluation is verified. No minimum hours, no retainer.
What the work looks like
A sample of the strategy consulting work you would pick up. Every project is scoped, remote, and paid on verified completion.
- Flag where a model's market-entry recommendation relies on circular moat logic or ignores structural barriers specific to the target industry.
- Check whether a model's M&A synergy estimate is internally consistent with the deal structure and integration timeline described.
- Write a worked bottoms-up TAM for a B2B SaaS company, annotating why each number was chosen and what would make it wrong.
- Score an AI-drafted summary on the Minto Pyramid and explain where the governing thought and key line break down.
- Audit a model's Porter's Five Forces across three industries and label which dynamics were correct, conflated, or missed.
- Write a rubric for strong versus weak strategic recommendations, using the criteria an EM applies before a client read-out.
