Hi, we're Zac and Jack, the founders of Terac. We want to talk to you directly, because you are the most important part of what we're building.

Terac is a community of experts. People who have spent years getting good at something specific and hard. The world is about to need more of you, not less. As AI takes on more of the world's work, the bottleneck shifts to the people who actually know what they're talking about.

Expert labor is the rarest resource in the world right now, and it is shockingly hard to find. The companies that need an ICU nurse's eye on a triage call spend weeks chasing people, paying placement fees, and settling for whoever is available. Meanwhile thousands of qualified people are sitting with knowledge that no one ever asks for.

That gap is what we're here to close. Every project that lands on Terac is routed to the people who actually know the answer, on their schedule, paid fairly, and only when the work is verified. No middleman taking a cut of your time. No vague gigs. No chasing checks.

We care about every single person in this community. If you join Terac, you're not a row in a database to us. We read the feedback. We answer the emails. We will fight for you when a customer is being unreasonable, and we will be honest with you when something on our side is broken. The quality of this panel is our entire company, and we owe you a serious bar.

If you've made it this far, here is what we're asking: claim your profile. Put your expertise on the record. Let the world's most ambitious teams come find you for the work only you can do.

Nursing questions

Still curious? Write to us at support@terac.com.

Niche sub-specialties are often the most valuable. Models trained on general medical text systematically misrepresent specialized reasoning, so your CRNA anesthesia protocols or NICU hemodynamic skills are exactly what's needed. Scope-bounded fields like nurse-midwifery, wound care (CWCN), and nephrology nursing are in active demand.

An active, unencumbered license in at least one U.S. state (or equivalent international registration) is required for most clinical tasks. A lapsed or retired license may still qualify you for non-clinical work like reviewing nursing education or patient communication, but your task pool is narrower.

You'll never give care, diagnose, or interact with real patients - the work is evaluative and educational, focused on machine-written text and synthetic scenarios. No task asks you to represent yourself as practicing, and you can flag or decline any scenario you judge outside your scope.

Typical work: reviewing AI-drafted SBAR reports, care plans, and discharge instructions for accuracy; writing worked examples using frameworks like the NCSBN Clinical Judgment Measurement Model; and judging a model's patient-education answers against ANA or specialty-society guidelines. Some tasks annotate documentation for NDNQI or Joint Commission adherence.

Yes. Certs like CCRN, CEN, OCN, or CMSRN are recognized credentials that raise your match rate in those domains regardless of current setting. If you hold a cert but now work in case management, informatics, or education, your background still counts - list both your credential and current context when you apply.

Why your expertise matters

Today's healthcare AI overlooks a common drug interaction, confuses nursing scope with physician orders, and runs a textbook algorithm where a real floor would flag a contraindication. Catching that takes bedside pattern recognition, not medical literature. Your corrections teach these tools how care actually gets delivered.

How pay works

Nurses with specialty certs (CCRN, CEN, CRNA, FNP), high-acuity practice, or deep EHR and Joint Commission knowledge land at the top of the $60-$150/hr band. Work is fully remote and asynchronous, paid per verified task, no minimum hours, so you set your own schedule.

What the work looks like

A sample of the nursing and clinical care work you would pick up. Every project is scoped, remote, and paid on verified completion.

  • Check an AI-drafted heart-failure care plan for steps outside RN scope or against ACC/AHA guidelines.
  • Flag where a model's ED triage assigns clinically indefensible CTAS or ESI levels.
  • Write a worked example of assessing a post-surgical patient with early sepsis cues and why they matter.
  • Rate a model's NCLEX-style pharmacology answers and mark dangerous oversimplifications of interaction risk.
  • Catch documentation errors in AI-drafted SOAP notes that breach CMS or Joint Commission standards.
  • Pick which of two AI-drafted diabetic discharge instructions a newly diagnosed patient could safely follow.

Specialties we match

Nursing projects span a wide range of focus areas. Tell us where you go deep and we route the work that fits.

  • Critical care nursing (ICU/CCU)
  • Emergency and trauma triage
  • Medication reconciliation and pharmacology
  • NCLEX and nursing education standards
  • EHR documentation (Epic, Cerner, Meditech)
  • SBAR and clinical handoff communication
  • Wound care and ostomy management
  • Labor and delivery / maternal-fetal monitoring
  • Nursing informatics
  • OASIS and home health documentation
  • Pediatric and neonatal assessment
  • Case management and care coordination
